What to Expect From Cities of Australia

The Land of Oz is a big island. If you are to visit a certain Australian state, without even a knowledge about it, your Australia tourist visa just might end up a disappointment.


Australia has 8 states and territories. They are Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and Northern Territory. Having enough information about these states will make your escapade at least close to perfect. It will make prepare you on what to encounter/expect once you set a foot on each state.


First is the Australian Capital Territory whose capital is Canberra. You will witness on this state the Floriade Festival that fashions lovely flowers, celebrated during the months of October and November in Canberra. On this place you will get passed or walk by the country's Parliament House. But every 9am to 5pm, there is a part of the building that is open to the public. Other towns that are worth visiting are Braidwood, Gold Creek, Bungendore and Tharwa.


New South Wales is the home of country's infamous city, Sydney. It is actually the country's most populous city. Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House is their pride. It also promotes the Snowy Mountains that offers skiing, bushwalking and wide array of wildflowers.


Victoria is the country's smallest state and yet, home of the world class national parks. You will find here the city of Melbourne, Australia's second largest city. The city offers visitors plenty of action and nightlife scene. The Great Ocean Road found in their territory is described as one of the world's most impressive coastal routes. Generally, climate in Victoria is cooler than any other state in Australia.


Queensland is the holiday capital of the country. It holds a lot of activities on their perfect holiday destinations like Brisbane and the Great Barrier Reef which is an ideal place for divers who want to see how beautiful underwater world is. November/December and April/May is hot but wet season while the remaining months are cooler and drier.


What you will find in South Australia are deserts in the far outback. Adelaide is its capital and called the city of churches. They also have a festival of arts and well known for their wineries. Their natural landscapes are also perfect for holiday getaways.


Western Australia is the largest state in terms of geographic size. It is a great place for romance because of its white-sand beaches. Perth is its capital. The Ningaloo Marine Park is compare to the Great Barrier Reef. You can closely see Whale Sharks and Greenback Turtles.


Tasmania is an island in the south of Australia with Hobart as its capital. There are plenty of national parks and various outdoor activities. The Overland Track and Southwest National Park are among Tasmania's most visited places.


Northern Territory is the least populous state. Majority of its soil is red. Having a top view of the city is a great idea. Kings Canyon and Kakadu National Park are among their numerous tourist attractions.
